Managing Group Membership
Group membership changes as your roster shifts - a student joins partway through the year, or moves to a different group. You can update who’s in a group anytime from its Group Details page. Any Instructor assigned to the group can manage its members.
Before You Start
- Students only appear as options if they’re assigned to you. If someone’s missing, see How Students Get Assigned to Me.
- A group covers one curriculum, Reading or Math. You can only add students who fit that group’s subject.
How to Add or Remove Students
-
Open the group. From My Students -> Groups, click the group you want to change.
-
Click Edit. The Edit action at the top of the Group Details page opens the group’s settings.
-
Add a student. In the Students field, start typing a name and click to add them. Added students appear as chips below the field.
-
Remove a student. Click the X on a student’s chip to take them out of the group.
Braintrust recommends 4 students or fewer per group for the best outcomes. If you go over, you’ll see a warning, but the group still saves.
-
Click Save. Your changes take effect right away.
What Happens After You Save
A student you remove still appears in that student’s own group history, so past participation is never lost. Removing a student doesn’t delete any of their assessment or session records.
