Group Details Overview

The Group Details page is your home base for a single group. From here you can see who’s in the group, check its curriculum settings, look back at past sessions, and open each student’s performance. Any Instructor assigned to the group can open it.

How to Open a Group

  • From the left navigation, click Students, then the Groups view, and select the group you want.
  • You can also reach a group’s details from a session on your schedule.

The Five Tabs

The page opens on Details and has four more tabs across the top:

  • Details - the group’s settings, notes from Braintrust, where to start, and the student roster.
  • Schedule - the group’s sessions on a calendar.
  • Session History - a record of past sessions, so you can see what’s already been taught.
  • Weekly Progress - attendance, skill mastery, and strengths and challenges for a single week.
  • Student Performance - lesson-level mastery for the group, across both assessments and instructional activities, so you can see where the group is strong and where to reteach. Each per-student column header has a Growth Report icon that opens that student’s report in a new tab. See Reading the Growth Report.

What’s on the Details Tab

Overview

The group’s name, school, program, grade range, date range, and session count. The name is either the nickname you gave the group or, if you didn’t set one, a list of the students’ names. You can change it anytime - see Renaming a Group with a Nickname.

Notes from Braintrust

Messages from Braintrust about this group. The card is read-only - it shows what Braintrust has sent, not a place to write back. When something new arrives, the card flags it. If it’s empty, there’s nothing waiting for you.

Where to Start

Braintrust’s lesson recommendations for the group, based on assessment results. For Instructors, Where to Start is read-only - Step 1 shows the pre-assessments Braintrust has assigned (Phonics and Comprehension for Reading), and Steps 2 and 3 fill in with building-block lessons and the starting lesson as results come in.

Students

Everyone in the group, with attendance and assessment results per student. To add or remove someone, see Managing Group Membership.

Curriculum Settings

For Math groups, the starting Math Domain is set automatically and you can change it here - see How the Starting Math Domain Gets Set. The group’s grade level and pre-assessment are also set automatically, and you can review or override the pre-assessment on this page. See How Pre-Assessments Get Assigned Automatically.
