Step 4: Join the Session

Your students are in the room with you, so joining a Spark session is just opening the platform side of it. One click from the Dashboard, and it is the same click every time.

The Up Next banner with the Start Session link at the end of it

How You Get In

Start Session on the Up Next banner is the way in. The banner sits at the top of the Dashboard and always shows the next session on your day, so it is normally right there when you need it.

You can also reach a session from your schedule by clicking it and choosing Join Session from the menu that opens. It lands you in the same place.

If You Cannot Start It Yet

Start Session stays greyed out until it is nearly time. Hover over it and Spark tells you when you will be able to join. You also cannot rejoin a session after its end time has passed.

One Thing That Catches People

Clicking the lesson name on a session does not start anything. It opens that lesson in the Library in a new tab so you can look it over, which is useful before class but is not the same button. See Previewing a Lesson Before You Teach.

What You Land On

The Session Agenda, which already lays out who is doing what. You are reading the plan, not building it.
